2018 Emerging Leaders College

Now Accepting Applications!

As you know, this past year MSCF created the Emerging Leaders College and without a doubt it has been a huge success. These are a few of the comments from the participants:

“I very much enjoyed all of the college sessions. After each session I was able to understand more of the organization’s history, focus, and philosophy.”
Brooke Thaden-Koch – Normandale Community College

“I wasn’t expecting we’d have as much time as we did with the state officers. That was an excellent aspect of the College. I’m coming away from the experience not only feeling comfortable with the state office, with how it works and who most of the people running things are, but also actually knowing all of the state officers relatively well.”
Stephen Nelson – Northland Community and Technical College – Thief River Falls

“I am grateful to have had this opportunity and felt every moment was worthwhile.  Thank you!”
Renee Guyer – South Central College

“I was happy to have had the chance to pull back the curtain on all the great things MSCF does for faculty daily. Despite the difficult political climate, I feel optimistic about our future and confident we will continue to engage our members to fight for the things that allow us to best serve our students and communities. The Emerging Leaders College has strengthened my resolve.”
Willy Mekeel – Riverland Community College

We are now again accepting applications for the Class of 2018 Emerging Leaders College. Applications are due by JUNE 9, 2017, and the College will hold its first session during the MSCF Summer Leadership Conference on July 31 through August 2.

We will be accepting 10 applications again this year, and we would like to encourage all faculty to participate who are interested in keeping MSCF strong. New, young faculty, underrepresented faculty, temporary faculty, senior faculty who are feeling a resurgence in unionism, et al…, are all welcome!

Including the Summer Leadership Conference and the Delegate Assembly presentation, there will be approximately 7 sessions and the participants will be expected to attend all of them.
