Outcomes:
By
the end of these activities, we hope participants will...
· access resources to
understand how immigration positively and negatively affects our
students and communities
· identify and/or
implement changes in courses or workplaces to decrease barriers for immigrant
students and make spaces more inclusive for all
· use D2L
Brightspace tools and technology to increase learning and engagement
· make
connections with faculty and staff on your campus and across the system
Learning Together:
During
these activities, we will all be
learning together. We are using one model of professional
development with a facilitator who is not an expert. We hope to have
participants from many backgrounds, experiences, and levels of expertise so we
can all learn more about these topics.
Respectful
Interactions:
Please
see the posted netiquette video and Rules of Engagement and Suggestions
document. We will discuss and possibly
modify these during the first online meeting.
Synchronous Online Book
Group Meetings:
We
will post information about connecting to and using the technology in the
meetings.
Dates
and times are in the schedule on the next page.

resources, and future book suggestions and interact informally with your

- Activities to compete prior to online meetings (even if
you cannot make the meetings).
- Materials from online meetings (for example,

Technology Use:
We
will attempt to model how technology can be used to help learning in courses,
meetings, or other groups. This will
also help us to experiences technology from the student perspective, identify
barriers to technology use, and think of ways to help students overcome these
barriers.
